The Hostal del Cardenal is located in an 18th century Toledo palace that has been converted into a three star hostel. The hostel’s restaurant, in an attractive setting surrounded by gardens, offers traditional Spanish cooking, featuring roast suckling pig and lamb cooked in traditional Castilian style in a wood fired oven, and Toledo-style partridge casserole. Desserts include the marzipans and “marquesitas” (small pastries) that are typical of the Toledo region. There is a special area set aside for children’s games and in the summer the terrace is a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends.
